The New York Knicks were able to fill their biggest hole coming into the NBA offseason, signing point guard Jalen Brunson away from the Dallas Mavericks. They also upgraded the center position, signing Isaiah Hartenstein away from the LA Clippers.
New York is in a position to potentially become players in free agency again in 2023 or 2024 if they can make some roster moves. Leon Rose, Scott Perry and William Wesley have done an excellent job in the front office, putting the team in this position.
The Knicks are set up to make a big acquisition should the opportunity arise. High-upside, young players in RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, Cam Reddish, Deuce McBride and Jericho Sims make this a very attractive roster long-term.
In addition to the players, New York also has a ton of draft capital. They have acquired extra draft picks in every draft that Rose has run for the organization, which has set them up for success down the road.
