Fresh off of a successful 2022 NBA Finals run, it’s impossible to say that the Golden State Warriors aren’t in a great position to repeat for the title next season.
That being said, it’s entirely possible that the current iteration of the roster they’re gearing up to bring into the upcoming 2022-23 campaign isn’t quite as deep or experienced as the squad that just secured Stephen Curry his fourth title.
Gone are vital veterans from their Finals run: Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Nemaja Bjelica, and even Andre Iguodala. The Dubs did little to replace the slew of wings that fled their team in free agency, having only acquired Donte DiVincenzo, JaMychal Green, and rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. this summer.
Golden State is seemingly dependent on the internal development of their young players to replace the depth they lost this past offseason. Between Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, and James Wiseman, the Warriors could have an entire bench unit comprised of recent first-round picks.

Rather than bet their title aspirations on a group of players in their early twenties, Golden State could shore up their rotation through the trade market before training camp.
