North American esports organisation Complexity Gaming, alongside content creator Clara ‘ClaraATwork’ Gomez, has announced a Women-led invite-only Apex Legends tournament.
The tournament, presented in partnership with American audio equipment manufacturer JBL, will be called ‘Clara’s Legends’. It will be held on December 3rd, 2022, and is set to be broadcast on Complexity Gaming’s Twitch channel.
20 teams of three, all led by prominent Women streamers as captains, will compete and collect points across six rounds for a share of the event’s $30,000 (~£25,026) prize pool.
The event will also have a slight quirk to typical esports gameplay. Communication will be limited for each team, with only the captain allowed to use voice chat. As a result, the other two team members will have to rely on the in-game ping system to communicate and strategise amongst each other.
Kyle Bautista, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Complexity Gaming, also voiced the organisation’s support for Women: “Whether signing a diverse cast of talent or hosting events like Clara’s Legends to celebrate women, Complexity is dedicated to doing its part to make gaming a more welcome environment for the current and future generation of players and fans.”
