The Golden State Warriors have gotten off to a slow start to the 2022-23 NBA season, but no one believes that they are going to be held down all season long. However, the slow start could look to management looking to make a sizable move to power the team back into championship contention. One move that fans would love to see would be reuniting with Brooklyn Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant via a trade.
Durant heading back to the Warriors was a rumored option when Durant requested a trade from the Nets this offseason. That didn’t end up happening and Durant stayed with the Nets, but that doesn’t mean Brooklyn wouldn’t move him if the deal was right.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green would certainly welcome Durant back to the team. The main question becomes, how could the Warriors pull off a trade with the Nets for Durant?

Our own James Piercey came up with a trade idea that would send Durant to the Warriors. Let’s take a look at that deal.
The Trade Idea
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, F Jonathan Kuminga, G/F Moses Moody, 2026 First-Round Pick (GSW), 2028 First-Round Pick (GSW), 2029 First-Round Pick (GSW)
Golden State Warriors Receive: F Kevin Durant
Taking a look at the deal on the surface, the Nets would have a hard time turning it down. Being able to bring in three young pieces to build around in Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody would be huge. Adding three first-round picks would help the franchise get things turned around long-term as well.

For the Warriors, the young pieces simply are not helping them towards their current goal. Their championship window will close quickly and Curry, Thompson, and Green aren’t getting any younger.
With all of that being said, what would you think of this trade idea to send Kevin Durant from the Nets to the Warriors? It may be unlikely, but this would be a very intriguing move for both teams involved.
