Singapore-based media company HyperLive Entertainment has acquired the international division of mobile esports organisation Nova Esports.

As a result, HyperLive Entertainment will take control of Nova’s international operations outside of China. Moreover, the division will be renamed Nova Hyper Esports.

In addition to a name change and operational control, HyperLive will open a headquarters for the organisation located in Singapore. Alongside the headquarters, it intends on opening a local esports academy in a bid to cultivate talent from the region.

According to a release, opening a headquarters in Singapore will assist the organisation in ‘building an international profile’ along with the development of creating new partnership opportunities.

The acquisition follows a strategic partnership signed between the two parties in May. The initial deal also mentions the creation of an academy but details of the project are currently unknown.

Nova Hyper Esports is a powerhouse within the mobile ecosystem and competes across a range of titles including Honor of Kings, Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Notably, the organisation won the inaugural Wild Rift Icons Global Championship as well as the PUBG Mobile Global Championship in 2020 and 2021.

Under new ownership, HyperLive intends to acquire new rosters in growing regions such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
